DICTIONARY & ANECDOTES

ENERGY, WHAT IS? Energy is a muscle which grows through use.

ENLIGHTENMENT, WHAT IS? Enlightenment is the love of God. To be enlightened is to see the silver lining in every cloud. To be filled with the Living Light which is God. To be freed forever from ignorance and misinformation; to have found and become one with God, aware of the full comprehension of life. To be freed from desire. Freed from painful emotion.

Emotions such as anger, resentment, pleasure, and fear contain inherent suffering. The enlightened have complete trust, faith, and confidence in God because enlightenment is itself complete trust, faith, and confidence in God. Enlightenment however, is an ongoing process. It is the point of life and living itself.

Enlightenment can be reached through illumination of all ignorance and misinformation which leads to acceptance, atonement, and union with God. Illumination kindles the fire of enlightenment. When enlightened, all of ones beliefs are aligned with the one true core belief in God. Until one finds enlightenment, one is delusion incarnate.

When enlightened, the "self" is illuminated. Having illuminated themselves and grafted themselves to God, like a tumbleweed that has taken root, the enlightened may then spend the rest of their days bearing good fruit and illuminating the world.

Enlightenment is like unto a smile inside you that never goes away. Bliss. The eye of the storm. To be completely enlightened is to be absent of all evil, and total enlightenment can really only be reached after one dies and is freed from the flesh and the world.

To be one with God is not to be God, but a child of God, God's willing and believing servant, trusting, and dependent on God for all things.

The belief structure, which separates ones memory from the truth, in the enlightened mind, is ordered about a core belief in God in such a way as to minimize entropy and maximize cohesion with truth. The conscious, sub-conscious, and all beliefs, are reconciled with God so that there might be what some call the "superconsciousness", allowing knowledge, observation, and truth to pass between God and oneself with minimum effort, or thought.

If you truly believe that you are enlightened, then you truly are enlightened.

ENLIGHTENMENT, ARE THERE DEGREES OF? Enlightenment is the final blossom grown from a seed of truth. It is the blossom which grows from the nurturing light of truth which the ignorant cannot see. Those who are not enlightened should not be referred to as partially enlightened, but rather partially illuminated, for enlightenment comes only after illumination of all ignorance and misinformation and acceptance in truth. Just as no one is partially pregnant, no one is partially enlightened. Along the road to enlightenment, one becomes illuminated. On the path to enlightenment, one conquers ones weaknesses one by one and illuminates the truth of each. One may even catch a glimpse of enlightenment, but is unable to maintain the state because one is not fully illuminated. Only after being fully illuminated can one find enlightenment through doubtless faith and trust in God. The degree of illumination can be said to be directly proportional to the degree of liberation from the self and the degree of ones trust in God.

ENLIGHTENED MAN: A youth came upon an enlightened man and recorded the following observations:

The enlightened man sat in peace, unmoved by the world. In bliss. A smile wrapped itself around him. His heart was glad. His eyes were bright and clear, not foggy. His countenance glowed. His gait was light and springy, not groggy. He needed nothing but God. His words were wise. At once, I knew his world was not my world. I could tell his world was beautiful, but I could not see its beauty. His halls were perfumed by something I could not smell. "How is it you have found such peace?" I asked. "How is it you have not?" he replied. I tried to hate him, but my envious scowl bent into a smile and I chuckled at myself. You couldn't help but love him, he was hard to hate. He was of love and righteousness. He asked me to join hands and pray with him in the name of the lord...

ENMITY, WHAT IS? Enmity is a deep-rooted hatred and ill will a person may harbor for another. No one is born with it, hate is learned and based on painful beliefs. Eliminate enmity. SEE ANGER

ENTERTAINING GOODNESS: Enlightenment and its journey is not without joy. Do not see the quest for enlightenment as an unpleasant journey. That would be far from truth. Any unhappiness is a result of evil at work, not the cleansing of this evil. See ones journey as entertaining goodness. The journey towards happiness is a joyful journey not an unpleasant one.

ENVY, WHAT IS? Selfish desire for the advantage enjoyed by another. Envy and jealousy regarding that which is temporary is pointless and fruitless. Celebrate another's good fortune and see it as an example of success.

Ironically, in Exodus 20:5, one is told "...I, the Lord thy God am a jealous God...". This means the truth, itself, is jealous. How can this be? God is "jealous" when mankind worships the creation rather than the creator. This is why God disciplines the sinner. Be "jealous" for truth, since it is this type of "jealousy" that will lead one to it.

ENTROPY: Entropy is the measure of the degree of disorder of a system, including a belief system such as the unenlightened mind. Entropy is the chaos, disorganization, and imperfections of the system of beliefs one has amassed. The goal is to bring these disorderly beliefs into order, and thus peace, through illumination of erroneous beliefs, and reconciliation with God. According to the second law of thermodynamics, the Universe is in a state of increasing entropy as systems break down and heat is released. Even space has a temperature.

ENVIRONMENT: The sum of all forces, seen and unseen, including God, which act, or may act, on a body, mind, or spirit.

EPISTEMOLOGY: The study of the origin of knowledge.

ERROR: Error is an aberration of truth. Error is generally noticed in ones behavior, but its roots are in having associated pain to ones observations during periods of trauma or surprise. The association of emotion to an observation is caused by failing to control ones reality at the time the association is made. Thus, error is rooted in misassociation which takes place when one conceptualizes emotional pain into ones observations.

ETERNITY, WHAT IS? Eternity is forevermore. This world will pass away, yet God still is and always will be, forever. God lives for eternity, for God is immortal. God always was and always will be. If one attains eternal life, it is by God's grace. However, eternal life is not the same thing as being immortal. An immortal has always been. To live eternally is to live forevermore. The Devil must continually recreate its delusion of an eternal self because the arms and legs of evil are destroyed by the truth. God is everlasting, if one can find God in oneself, then one can attach oneself to that which is everlasting.

EVIL IN A MATCH STICK: Evil can be likened to a match stick. For evil, is like the fire itself, illuminating only what it is soon to consume.

EVIL LIMB, THE: The time came when a limb on the good tree that was bearing the most beautiful of blossoms grew proud. It was vain, and dreamt of growing in its own way. As a matter of fact, it desired to grow towards the moon rather than the Sun. It no longer respected the root from which it came or the way that it was pruned. Soon this limb demanded to be in charge of the way it grew, but was denied to do so by the root. The limb demanded its own root and was again denied. Finally, this limb selfishly broke away from the good tree so that it could grow towards the moon, however, the moon could not provide enough light for the evil limb to grow by, and the evil limb could not take root itself in the good soil. After all, it was wild. Destined to die, the evil limb resigned itself to destroying the good tree.

So it is with the Devil. Satan, is like unto the evil limb which has broken away from the good tree to grow in its own way.

EVIL PEOPLE, ARE THERE? When two good people in love create a life through intercourse, that life is pure and good in its conception. However, the influence of evil against a child can happen even before a child is born. Take for example babies born addicted to heroin, already the evil in the world has affected them through the abuse of their parents. Still, a baby is about as good and innocent as life can be.

People under the influence of evil might be thought of as being "evil people" but that does not mean they will always be evil. "Evil people" can be "saved", i.e. made into "good people", when they discover the truth about God and are able to "see their evil ways." The Devil influences people through people. Many of us are thus, victims of victims. When one considers that many people have chosen to be good people, how can one deny that others have not fallen to the side of evil. Look at the staggering crime statistics.

EVIL, WHAT IS? Not truth. Error. The privation, or lack, of good. Evil is the obstruction, or ignorance, of truth and goodness. If there was no evil, there would only be truth, or perfection.

Most evil is done out of tragically misguided attempts to find peace and contentment, which is God. Thus, evil is done out of failed attempts to find God. It is a behavioral response to the pain one feels from ones failure to find true happiness or ones loss of control over ones pleasure. Failure to find God, or failure to make ones pleasures permanent, result in the internalization of pain.

Whether intended or not, walls are created by such, which separate others in ones life from the truth they seek. People wrongly erect walls in response to their own failure to find God or permanent pleasure. Such walls are evil if such walls separate good people from good people. Anything which hinders one from being able to take the path of goodness is evil. Evil is the result of acting on ignorant beliefs. Evil is ignorance.

The world is basically an evil place. Evil is morally wrong. Evil was inadvertently created when created beings were given the ability to choose between good and evil and chose evil.
Evil can appear in many forms such as anger, violence and laziness. However, it is through evil that all evil things come. Those who are evil are often victims of evil themselves. They are seeking God in all the wrong ways. There is hope, however, as evil is temporary and can be destroyed by truth which is the only thing that lasts forever. One may never live contently through evil. Perhaps that is why "evil" is "live" spelled backwards, as if it is the opposite of living.

Evil is acting upon ones own free will in a way other than the will of God. It is not free will that is evil, but ones acting upon it to do what is not right.

EVOLUTION, WHAT ABOUT? Nothing does not evolve into something. Nothing does not just explode one day creating the entire Universe. The byproducts of atomic explosions do not "evolve" into life. Far from being a scientific fact, evolution is simply a scientific hypothesis which attempts to explain mankind's presence leaving God entirely out of the picture. Such hypothesis is full of holes.

We are not the descendants of the apes that one may see in the zoo. If we were then how can one explain why the apes in the zoo did not "evolve" and yet we did? We do not earlier share a common ancestor. If so, then why are there no intermediate forms in the fossil record? One phylum does not change into another phylum. Why is the missing link still missing?

Our supposed "ape-man ancestors" which are taught as truth in American schools have most recently been discounted as frauds. "Modern science" wants so badly to believe that we are all related to old ape bones that skeptical scientists were forbidden from examining these fossils for years. Only recently were scientist allowed to examine and disprove these supposed "ancestors". There remains no shred of evidence that mankind as it is known today is related to an ape or monkey. However, it should be noted, that all humans are indeed related to each other. All humans are in the least, distant cousins. Even if it could turn out that Darwin was right, and that some barely human bones were actually found, would not evolution be God's plan? Even evolution would seem to indicate mankind's superiority over all other animals.

Even if Darwin was right in some areas, evolution itself would seem to be evolving. Darwin's "survival of the fittest" is today's "survival of the richest", those who can afford the best medicine and can afford to have lots of children. Natural selection has been replaced with financial selection. Nevertheless, our ability to comprehend life, death, and God shows us that at some time in the history of "evolution" mankind became "aware that it was aware". Is this not then our true origin? And who were the first to know God? Even evolution does not mitigate against the Biblical Eden, in fact, it suggests that a first set of humans, or homo sapiens sapiens, one male and one female, had to have existed at one time, and that all races of homo sapiens sapiens are indeed related to them.
Whatever the case, until the first humans knew God and turned against God moving from innocence to ignorance, mankind had not fallen in sin. That which is flesh is flesh, and that which is spirit is spirit. This in mind, would one say that faith in God evolved from faith in nothing?

Today, "evolution" seems to be in the hands of mankind, but make no mistake, God is in charge of everything. Mankind has seized imaginary control over much of this world by rejecting God, and now it appears as though it is in charge of genetically changing mankind, the animals, and the artificial "man-made world", including the machines such as computers which are "evolving" to replace its very own creators. The time may come when some will say that everything was made by man. But what correctness can come from incorrectness? What truth can come from error? Will this world not pass away by mankind's own hand?

Our relation to apes, fish, and trees is this: that we are all created beings, created by God, from the matter of the Earth for the glory of God. Our true Father is not our fleshly father, nor is our true Father some distant relative which climbed out of the ocean. Our true father is the Creator itself. There is spiritual danger in explaining ones existence apart from God. Do not call a tree or some ape in a zoo, ones father. Even evolution falls apart in explaining how blood has come from a stone and how the stone itself has come from nothing.

Evolution is nothing but one "theory" to explain ones flesh through R.N.A./D.N.A. mutations of lower order life forms. Even evolution says nothing about the spirit. One is more than simply ones flesh! Ones flesh may indeed be nothing but that of an animal, but ones spirit is not the same as an animal spirit. Except mankind, what fruit can know the tree from whence it came? Do animals know God?

Why then the dinosaurs you ask? Well, dinosaurs are a part of God's plan also. They may have even contributed to the vast oil reserves found, interestingly enough, in some of the most holy lands on Earth. Although they are extinct, this does not necessarily mean that they were on this planet before us. The name "dinosaur" is barely one hundred years old, the name "dragon" on the other hand, has been around for thousands of years. Consider the possibility that the "dinosaurs" may have perished in the Great Flood written about in the Bible.

Fossils may have been incorrectly dated to be millions of years old which are in fact only several thousands of years old. There continues to be much debate regarding Carbon isotope dating in the scientific community. For instance, the ratio of the prevalence of Carbon 13 to Carbon 12 is not a constant. The ratio may be affected by the amount of photosynthesis taking place. The amount of sunlight reaching the earth at any period of time and competition for the preferred Carbon 12 amongst photoplankton and other plants may affect such dating.

Also, since dinosaur bones are in the ground, consider that dinosaurs may be the serpents over which we trample every day as written in the book of Genesis.

All in all, there is just as much evidence that mankind is a "fallen" creature as there is that mankind is "rising" up from the goo of primeval slime. The second law of entropy would seem to suggest that we are all deteriorating rather than improving. Consider that mankind may have turned from God in the "Garden of Eden" and has since been left to its own devices.

EXCUSES, WHAT ARE? Explanation to justify failure. Through excuse, one seeks to remove self-blame for self-actions. Understand ones failures and guilt rather than cover them with lies called excuses. We each have choice in all we do. Excuses such as "I was under orders when I committed that sin", or "I was drunk at the time", are obstacles to the truth. Likewise, those who doubt that they can "rise up" and shine should realize that the only thing keeping them down is gravity. When one points to blame something outside of oneself, three of ones fingers are pointing at oneself. There is no excuse for knowingly living in error. Any such excuse would be error itself.

EXPECTATION: Expectation is an assumption, and thus belief, regarding the future. However, the future does not yet exist. There is only now. Because of the past, ones imagination is able to speculate and fabricate a future based on patterns and beliefs. This is expectation and speculation. If someone was to ask you what you are going to do tomorrow, would you be right if you said that you are going to wake up and go for a walk? What if you die tonight? This is why many people say, "God willing" before or after they talk about future plans.

One can only expect what one can imagine. All expectation is really delusion. After all, we are not completely in charge of the future. Work for tomorrow, and prepare for tomorrow, but do not expect it. Do not even expect that tonight will come. Do not expect that one will have eternal life, instead, trust in God, and in trusting know that God will do with one what God will. In this way one may seize the best opportunities that come ones way, and one is never disappointed by ones own delusions.

This does not mean to expect nothing, it means not to expect at all! Expecting nothing is still expectation. Expectation is exhibited in emotion. Find joy, understanding, and acceptance in ones observations. Live for, and in, the present. Depression is a sure sign of delusionary expectations getting the better of one.

EXPECTATION VS. HOPE: There is a difference between expectation and hope. Expectation is really longing, feeling, and thinking that things will work out the way one wants them to. Hope is really trust that things will work out for the best. Hope for the best but accept whatever happens. When one expects things to work out their way, one is hurt when they don't. Put ones hope in Jesus Christ, the only hope for the world. Hope springs eternal.

EYE WITHIN AN EYE: If one cannot see, one is blind. There is an eye within ones eye which when opened, will enable one to see the truth clearly. For truly, in the world of the blind, a person with even one eye is king.

What is keeping you from opening your spiritual eye? Each "lash" on the figurative eyelid is a branch of attachment or aversion which needs to be illuminated. When all of the "lashes" of the "eye" are illuminated, then one is able to open the eye and "see" truth accurately.

What one discovers is that one no longer clings to ones flesh in fear of the Ultimate Truth because one is prepared for it. One is no longer fearful of the truth because one has neutralized all ignorance, misinformation and lies about it. One becomes one with the inner and outer eye- hence the name "eye within an eye." One becomes one of the eyes of God.
